Ive noticed a trend among small business owners: Were a stubborn breed. We know what we want, and often we think we know exactly what we need to do to reach our goal(s). Sometimes we are even convinced that we can do everything on our own. Well turn down offers for help, and as the saying goes, a small business owner will work 80 hours a week to avoid working 40. We know what we want, and of ten we think we know exactly what we need to do to reach our goal(s). Sometimes we are even convinced that we can do everything on our own. Well turn down of f ers f or help, and as the saying goes, a small business owner will work 80 hours a week to avoid working 40. If time has taught me one thing about small business owners, its that we need lessons in overcoming stubbornness. Years ago, as a f irst time small business owner, my mouse broke. Well, it didnt so much break, it just wasnt f unctioning correctly. To think again about it Yes, I guess it was broke. I didnt want to spend the money to buy a new mouse (it was a Logitech trackball) so I decided to put up with the malf unctioning one, convinced the new mouse would break the bank. Af ter listening to me complain about it numerous times, my f riend Amber asked why I didnt just buy a new one. When I told her my reasoning about cost she went and looked up the price. A replacement mouse would cost $30. My jaw dropped. Overcoming stubbornness is a necessity for business owners, especially considering what we are often stubborn about is often what we are uneducated about. If I had researched the price of the mouse weeks bef ore I would have saved myself much time and aggravation. Are you stubborn about overcoming stubbornness? If you dont know, think about the f ollowing: Do you do everything yourself because you dont want to take the time to teach others? Are you holding of f hiring a consultant because you think it will be too expensive? Do you think social media is only f or teenagers? Was your website build 10 years ago and never updated? I have to say In my opinion Ive come a f ar way as f ar as being stubborn about business owners. The Sutton Creative Studios team has grown to NINE (YAY!!!!), and I am outsourcing tasks I know I could do on my own. And do you want one more clue that Ive been overcoming stubbornness? Here it is: I bought a new keyboard immediately *****

2.
