If there are bubbles in the bottom of the electrode, spin the electrode around by holding the cord. This will push the liquid into the lower part of the electrode rod.Control the crystal level in the electrode. If too high: liquid in the electrode should be emptied, the crystals rinsed with distilled water and the electrode refilled with fresh KCl solution. If too low: fill with saturated KCl or fresh KCl crystals.Clean the electrode regularly with Renovo N (Renovo x if fat samples are measured). To ensure accurate results avoid contact with the bottom of the cup during measurement. Keep the electrode in pH 4 buffer overnight (not colored). Please note that this will lead to higher dissolving of the crystals.Rinse electrode with distilled water between samples. If an electrode is stored in KCl (new electrode), it must be soaked in buffer pH 4 for at least 2 hours before use. Check the electrodes instructions as storage and activation recommendations may differ between electrodes.Conductivity CellClean platinum-coated conductivity cells gently, aggressive cleaning may lead to degradation of the platinum surface layer.Rinse the cell with deionized water between sample measurements. If fat samples have been measured, the cell can first be cleaned with solvents that dissolve the sample (for example ethanol and acetone). Finish by washing the cell with water.If deposits occur on the cell surface, it can be dipped in Renovo N (cleaning kit from Radiometer) for 1h and then be cleaned with deionized water.For short-term storage, the cell can be stored in deionized water. For long-term storage, the cell can be kept dry, or placed in deionized water. After long-term storage, the electrode needs to be placed in deionized water for 8 hours before use.Do not touch the shiny surface of the platinum-coated cells. To clean the platinum cells, dip the cell in deionized water several times. Do not rinse it with excessive water pressure.
