    providedbynonexpertshasbecomeabundantlyavailable,thusitisbecomingincreasingcriticaltodistinguishcredible,reliable,validinformationfrominformationthatisfalseorpresentedwithabias.

    Activity Summary Studentswillworkingroupsoftwo.Eachstudentwillreceiveoneofthethreearticleslistedbelow,thencompletetheinformationonthetablefortheirarticle.Studentsmayusetheinternettolookupbios,determineifanarticleispeerreviewed,etc.Thestudentsshouldthendiscussasagroupifanarticleshouldbeignored,orsavedasasource.Thestudentswillbeaskedtoexplainhowtheycametotheseconclusions.StudentswilllikelyhavesomedebateregardingtheDicksarticle.Aftertheactivity,plugthesearchtermsbeesneonicotinoidsintoGoogle(Googleresultschangefrequently,butatthetimethislessonwasdesigned,theEntinearticleranked3rdinresults).Allowstudentstimetodiscusswhatthismeansabouttheirsearchtechniques.
